Since the dawn of time, man has been fascinated by the heavens. It was also believed that man started to consider in a supreme being when his gaze locked on the stars.
As time passed and man’s intelligence evolved, a system was formulated to map out large portions of the heavens. Constellations were identified and certain gifted men and women from different parts of the globe developed a method by which to identify time, assign values for every time set (one year or a one month frame; usually animals); and identify human behavior patterns in every assigned time set.
In the Chinese zodiac, 12 animals are designated to represent a 12 year cycle while in the Western zodiac, it is divided into 12 signs (also represented by its own set of animals), each with basically a one month cycle.
But what is interesting about these time mappings are the way it represented the traits, attitudes, destiny, lucky numbers, love status, etc. of individuals just by basing it on a person’s birth date or birth year (for the Chinese zodiac) whichever you prefer.
